Wood Rot Repair

The temperate climate here in Wilmington makes living along the coast desirable. But it is the perfect storm of warmth, and moisture that turns wood into mush.

Exterior trim such as siding, window sills, trim, porches, posts are all susceptible to wood rot.

Look for loose, blistered or cracked paint on your painted surfaces. Then, insert a knife into that area. If the wood is not solid, but mushy, you have wood rot. Sometimes the paint has popped off exposing wood that is darker color than the wood around it – a sure sign of wood rot.
